Boaster Officially Leaves FNATIC as VALORANT Roster Undergoes Major Rebuild
FNATIC has officially parted ways with longtime in-game leader Jake “Boaster” Howlett on November 6, 2026, closing a chapter that began in 2021. The announcement follows the departures of crashies and Alfajer on November 4 and 5, respectively, as FNATIC prepares to rebuild its VALORANT roster for the 2027 season
FNATIC is entering a new phase in its VALORANT journey following the official departure of Jake “Boaster” Howlett, one of the organization’s longest-serving players and a defining figure in its competitive history.
The British in-game leader’s exit was announced on November 6, 2026, ending an association that began in 2021. Across multiple roster changes and competitive seasons, Boaster remained central to FNATIC’s identity, contributing both strategic leadership and a recognizable personality within the international VALORANT community.
His departure comes during a wider restructuring of FNATIC’s VALORANT division. Austin “crashies” Roberts left the organization on November 4, followed by Emir “Alfajer” Ali Beder on November 5. The organization has also made changes to its coaching staff, including the exits of assistant coach Desmo and performance coach Szed.
Boaster’s years with FNATIC included some of the team’s most memorable achievements, particularly its international title victories at VCT LOCK//IN São Paulo and VCT Masters Tokyo in 2023. His leadership also helped the organization remain competitive on the global stage during subsequent seasons.
Although FNATIC had already moved Boaster to its inactive roster in September 2026, the latest announcement confirms the end of his time with the organization.
The rapid sequence of departures leaves FNATIC facing important decisions ahead of the 2027 VALORANT Champions Tour season. With several experienced members no longer part of the lineup, the organization will need to establish a new competitive structure and leadership arrangement.
For Boaster, the departure opens the possibility of a new professional chapter. Neither the player nor FNATIC has officially confirmed his next destination.
As the offseason progresses, attention will turn toward FNATIC’s replacement signings and where its former captain continues his competitive career.
